    • I don't even know what this is about (or care) and all I can think is NEED. NOW. PLEASE. GIVE TO ME. HAVE MY FIRSTBORN CHILD. MY SECOND BORN CHILD. ALL MY CHILDREN! JUST GIVE IT TO ME!!!!

    • holy crap wait is this a romance between the two girls on the cover?update: IT'S NOT STOP DISAPPOINTING ME LIKE THIS

    • Julie Murphy has run away with my heart yet again. I swear this woman writes stories just for me (ok not really, but damn it feels like it). She’s back, in Clover City, to tell Millie & Callie’s stories. One minute I’m laughing, then the next I’m counting my tears, right alongside some of the characters. It’s a full range of emotions that I’ve become so familiar with while reading a Julie Murphy novel. She knows how to write a story for which we can all see ourselves in. I loved [...]

    • Thank you Edelweiss for providing me a free review copy in exchange for an honest reviewI've always had a weird relationship with Julie Murphy's books, especially Dumplin'. She writes stories that are just interesting enough to draw attention, but sucker punch you with a twist you weren't expecting to keep you interested. A girl gets cancer and preforms her bucket list only to go into remission. A lesbian question her sexuality when she develops feelings for a boy. A fat girl enters a beauty pag [...]

    • Don't mind me over here crying like a little baby. Julie Murphy's books, man- they just make me feel seen! The characters, the tenderness, the open explorations of how to become the person you want to be, the special insights into the challenges of being a (mostly) (somewhat) unapologetic fat girl.I mean, Dumplin' andPuddin'both pretty much read like they're taken straight from my Most Perfect Fat Girl Fairytale Checklist. Let's see:-Actual fat girl on the cover? Check!-Title that doesn't contai [...]

    • *I received a DRC from edelweiss and the publisher. all opinions are my own.*I think i loved this even more than Dumplin! Millie is an absolute cinnamon roll. Callie well, it took a while, but i liked her by the end! She definitely had a lot of growth in this book. I love that there's an awesome girl gang in this, lifting each other up and supporting each other. And the fat rep is just so on point. Millie would literally say things that i think all the time. I often wonder how different high sch [...]

    • At first, I was unsure of this because why would we need another book in the Dumplin' series(???), but then I saw that it was a companion. Those I enjoy. I want this now.

    • I was really excited to read this when we got the ARC in! I loved Dumplin' and to hear that they are making a film with Jennifer Aniston playing Willowdean's mother got me all "Miss Universe snatchin' the crown from the bitches" excited! In this sequel, we're focusing on the supporting character Millie, another plus-size gal, from the first book. Paired together with mean girl Callie who is forced to do community service after a horrible prank gone wrong, it had all the makings of the typical gi [...]

    • I will say that I didn't get in to Dumplin' but wanted to give Puddin' a shot and was excited not to count out Murphy based on my reaction to the first one. This one allowed me to connect to the characters and storyline, especially with Millie's list-making and early-bird rising. Both the characters that it switches back and forth with grow over the course of the story and even with opposition and some crappy circumstances, their winning personalities, humor, or stick-with-it skills allow them t [...]

    • This has made my year I'm so excited! Dumping was my spring break beach read and it took me less then 8 hours to read!

    • Thank you to Edelweiss and HarperCollins for providing me an eARC to read in exchange for my review.I read Dumplin' a few years ago and loved the body positivity and darling characters and was excited to take Puddin' for a spin. Guys, I'm not going to lie: at first I was really hating it. Millie's character was so saccharine sweet and didn't seem like a real person in the beginning of the book. Callie was an unforgivably unkind popular girl. But then just as I was about to give up, Julie Murphy [...]

    • I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher for an honest review. Can I just say that I love Millie! She and I are soul twins and I really wish we could be best friends. While I love a badass, fierce, take-no-prisoners female (aka Katniss Everdeen), it just isn't who I am. I am a Millie - sweet, weird, way into crafts, and sometimes overly positive. And it was so refreshing to know that I can also be a badass. At the same time - I was a dance team Captain of a Texas high school dance team [...]

    • Super big thanks to Edelweiss+ and the publisher for letting me read an e-arc of this.This. Book. Was. So. Stinkin'. Sweet.WARNING: Reading this book too quickly may put you at an increased risk for Type 2 Diabetes.I seriously adore Millie with all my heart. Heck, even mean girl Callie grew on me. I didn't think that was going to be possible but Julie Murphy is some kind of a magical unicorn woman. She knows how to write a friendship tale like no other.I have the same complaint with this one tha [...]

    • 3.5 starsI absolutely loved DUMPLIN' and had high expectations for this one, but it fell short. For a book that is coming out 3 years after its companion novel, it relied a lot on the previously developed characters for this title, and I definitely didn't remember a lot of the background characters. Once again this dives into the complexities of mother-daughter relationships, but on no level does it capture what DUMPLIN' did. It also took a really long time for me to get into this read. I will c [...]

    • Oh my sweet god this was just wonderful. I loved Dumplin' so so so much, and I just didn't think I could possibly love this book as much. But I did! I do! This is a PERFECT companion to Dumplin' and I can't WAIT to recommend it to people. I'm not even sure how this is possible, but I think I love Millie more than I loved Willowdean?!?!?!!? And I kind of love that the love story in this isn'twell, you'll see. Just so damn wonderful. Brava, Julie Murphy! Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for th [...]

    • Thanks to Edelweiss for the prepub. This delightful companion piece to Dumplin brings us back to Colver City TX. This story focuses on Millie and her continuing story of self fulfillment after the beauty pageant. The story also focuses on Callie a member of the Shamrock dance team. The Shamrocks are the team that has won the most competitions in Colver City's school history. However, they always play second fiddle to the football team. When something doesn't go the way of the Shamrocks, Callie a [...]

    • Well, this wasn't quite what I thought it would be. Pros: good, strong girl friendships, self-esteem issues dealt with realistically, real depiction of small town TexasCons: unrealistic consequences to destruction, Callie never really understood what she did wrong, Millie was almost too good to be true and the boys were kind of one dimensional. It's an okay book but it is no Dumplin'.

    • Thank you Edelweiss for the ARC. Sometimes book 2 is a letdown after such a great book 1but you will not find that here. Puddin' was the perfect follow up to Dumplin'. Julie Murphy has done it again. Millie and Callie are two such different characters that it is hard to believe that they are a good fit for a book, but they are. They are the perfect fit. I also love that I got to keep up all the characters that I loved from the first book. As close to perfection as you can get!

    • I LOVED Dumplin' and was thrilled to spend some more time in Clover City. Millie and Callie are great characters . . . Even though I wanted to smack Callie through most of the novel. One trait I love about Julie's writing is her ability to write characters who are so realistically flawed. Callie's self-absorption is such a real teen trait. A must-read for those who enjoyed Dumplin'.Thank you Edelweiss and publishers for providing an advanced copy.

    • It's like Julie Murphy is writing these books just for me! I had the opportunity to read the ARC for this one. It arrived on my birthday. Happy birthday to me! I love Millie self-confidence and Callie's character arc. There is some romance in this one, but it focuses even more on the importance of female friendship than Dumplin'. If you loved Dumplin', you will love this one, too!

    • So happy to be back with these characters! I knew the moment I got my hands on this one I had to read it. I loved Dumplin' but I think I might like Puddin' even more. Millie and Callie were both great and I would have happily spent even more time with them. Such good characters and stories and romances, but also nice themes like race, size, friendship, family. Julie Murphy is just great.

    • I loved it. Puddin' was just as good as Dumplin'. I love these novels. Thank you so much, Julie Murphy, for giving us fat girl protagonists whose fatness isn't portrayed as something to be ashamed of. (Thank you to Edelweiss for the advanced copy)
